How it works
No item list needed: type what kinds of things you sell and read one short list on Friday.
Type what you sell
Baby gear, toys, small appliances, a few brands. Plain words are fine, and you can change them at any time.
It reads every new recall
Every day it reads the government’s new recalls and checks them against your words.
Every Friday, one short list
The week’s new recalls on your things, with photos and what to do. If nothing matches, it says so.
Check an item now
No account needed. Type the brand and product of something that just came in. It searches every recall since 2016, with photos so you can compare.
No match means we found no recall under that name. It doesn’t mean the item is safe.
The newest recalls
Straight from the government’s list, updated every morning.
HABA USA Recalls Rainbow Rattle Grasping and Teething Toys Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Choking and Ingestion Hazards
What you get
One page and one email a week, built around the sorting table.
Friday’s email
Nearly all recalls come out on a Thursday. Friday morning you get the week’s on your list, then a line on how many others came out.
2 recalls on your list this week (Oct 23–29)

An example. The other recalls that week that aren’t on your list are counted in one line.
A check box for the item in your hand
Type “Rock n Play” or “Graco stroller” and see any recall since 2016 in a second, photos side by side so you can compare.
Your words, not a spreadsheet
Type “baby gear” and it suggests crib, stroller, bassinet, high chair, play yard and more. You see every word and can edit it.
The notice as the government wrote it
Each recall shows its photo, what’s wrong, what to do (refund, repair, replace) and a link to the official notice. Nothing is rewritten.
Why used goods need this
Shops selling new goods usually hear about a recall from their supplier. Donated and traded-in goods come with no such warning, and the law against selling a recalled product covers used ones too.
One plan, everything included
For businesses and charities that run shops.
- Your list of things and brands, as long as you like
- Every Friday’s email with photos and what to do
- The check box, as often as you need it
- 7 days free, no card needed

Questions
Do I need a list of everything in my shop?
No. Type the kinds of things you sell and any brands you see a lot, such as baby gear, toys, small appliances, Graco. You can change it at any time.
Why Friday?
Nearly all recalls come out on a Thursday, so on Friday morning you get the whole week’s.
Can I check one item that’s just come in?
Yes. There’s a box at the top of your page. Type the brand and product and it searches every recall since 2016 in a second, with photos so you can compare.
If nothing comes up, is the item safe?
No. It means we found no recall under that name. Check the item itself, its label and its condition as you always would.
Does it cover car seats?
Not yet. Car seats are recalled by a different agency, the road safety one, so check those on its site. Food and cars aren’t covered either.
What do I do when something matches?
Each recall shows what the government says to do, such as a refund or a repair from the maker. Take the item off the floor, then follow that. We give you the notice, not legal advice.
How much is it?
$19 a month. The first 7 days are free and no card is needed. Cancel at any time. It’s sold to businesses and charities that run shops.
Where the recalls come from
From the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s public recall list, published as open data at saferproducts.gov. shelfsure.shop isn’t a government service and isn’t endorsed by the government.
It doesn’t cover car seats, cars or food, which other agencies recall. No match doesn’t mean an item is safe. This is information, not legal advice. shelfsure.shop is for businesses and charities running shops, not for the public.
